Production

All our varieties are introduced into the North American territory by running through the quarantine stations of either the United States or Canada.

Although the seed classes for certification in mostly all states and Canada allow up to 6 field multiplications, our goal is to guarantee that our varieties shall not be reproduced more than 4 years or 4 field generations.

After the plantlets have been proven to be completely free from diseases the production of mini tubers can start. We are working with the most reliable mini tuber labs in the US and Canada, in order to ensure disease-free mini tuber material which is being delivered to our production partners.

In order to prevent from mutations of the varieties in our mini tuber labs, Hanse Seed introduces every 5 years a new clone from the breeder in Germany.
